Team Texas Manager
My name is Amy Frackowiak. I was 16 years old when I was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy. I started dialysis when I was 25 years old and remained on dialysis for three years. On May 18, 2009 I received a kidney transplant at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Then on November 21, 2018 I received another kidney transplant from a living donor, Kim Artall! I have attended all of the U.S. Games since 2010 and I also participated in three world games. I love participating in volleyball, basketball, javelin, ball throw, 5K, shot put and discus.
Team Texas Co Manager
I am so happy to be able to be a part of Team Texas. I have been a nurse for 28 years with 16 years being in transplant. I have worked as a Coordinator for the Organ Donor Program and I am currently a Transplant Coordinator for Houston Methodist Hospital. I went to the transplant games with my first team back in 1994 and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!! I will never forget it and it makes me more determined to have recipients and donors experience this incredible event. Without our donors there is no transplant.
I am married to Tony and the mother to three dogs. We moved to Texas 7 years ago from New Jersey which was the best move we have ever made. We love it here and are so happy and PROUD to call Texas home.
